Tomljanovic took to Instagram to post an update about her health. She said, “Hello everyone, unfortunately, I won’t be competing for a couple of weeks… was very much looking forward to the next hard court events. I had to get some uterine fibroids removed and will be watching from home while healing. Will be back soon.”

Earlier this year, Tomljanovic bowed out of her home Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open in the second round. While she was expected to dig deep in the tournament, the campaign ended with a loss against Jelena Ostapenko. Furthermore, her recent health update means she will be away from tennis for at least a couple of weeks, as she revealed.

While she languishes outside the top 200 of the WTA rankings, the Australian star will always be remembered for ending Serena Williams’ career.

If I have learned anything from the incredible career of the ?King of Clay?, it is to constantly enhance your skill sets, no matter at what stage you are in your career. This motivated me to complete an Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management while pursuing my career as a sports writer.
