Weeks before the tournament, Gauff had changed her coaching staff. Enter the likes of veteran coach Brad Gilbert and Pere Riba. They helped the American tennis sensation with her game and allowed her to make big strides.

Now that the entire team has been enjoying some downtime after a rigorous schedule, Gilbert dropped a huge update on his personal life. The veteran coach hasn’t traveled with Gauff frequently on tennis tours because of his age and health concerns. Nonetheless, he has proved to be a useful addition to Gauff’s coaching staff. The 62-year-old veteran coach is active on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and often shares valuable information on such platforms. Recently, he took to X where he shared an adorable picture along with a sweet message that melted hearts all around.

Sharing a post on his official Twitter handle, Gilbert wrote, “we adopted this beautiful girl yesterday. she is 14 weeks old from Paw works.”

He also shared a picture of his pet, who looked sad and weak.

While Gilbert’s influence on Gauff is already showing results, the former was once in awe of Gauff’s game. He once revealed how he felt working with Gauff, who was in the form of her life.

The legendary coach, who has worked with the likes of Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick, once went on to reveal his perspective on his partnership with Gauff. Talking about her, he said, “really enjoyed 1st tournament. She is extremely hardworking and very humble.” As a result, Gilbert’s partnership with Gauff has been on the right track from Day 1 itself.
