His post covered the fact that Tomljanović had a big fall in the rankings and now sits at 296. “A year after beating Serena Williams — Just randomly checked to see where Ajla Tomljanovic’s ranking is and… It’s outside the top 250. 296 to be exact.”

Tomljanović suffered a knee injury, which forced her to withdraw from all tournaments where she was scheduled to play. Despite this fact, she reached a career-high ranking of 32 in April. But after that, her ranks started falling as she had not been able to compete at the professional level.

She announced in May that she would miss all slams. The 20-year-old was castigated by the entire world of tennis and British media. Andy Murray rushed to her defense and said that the tennis world is quite harsh on British players.
