January 26 is Australia Day, a day of huge significance, and a day to celebrate for all Australians. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for tennis legend Margaret Court. The 24-time Grand Slam champion had her house burgled on the same day.

The tennis icon is regarded as one of the all-time greats of the game. Throughout her illustrious tennis career, which concluded in 1977, she won 64 trophies overall and 24 Grand Slam singles championships.

Robbery at Margaret Court’s house 

Numerous priceless objects, including medals, prizes, and other valuables, were taken from the home of the Australian legend. The controversial sporting Legends’ home was broken into by two people on January 26 at 8 p.m, according to the Western Australian police, who also searched her possessions.

According to the police, several objects have been found in the neighboring gardens and woods. Not only that, but they also detained two Edgewater guys who are the accused in the case. Notably, she also expressed gratitude to the Western Australian police for recovering her stolen property and apprehending the offenders.

The motive for the robbery is still unclear, though. Notably, one of her Australian Open  miniature medals, as well as medals from the OABE and OC, were among the stolen goods. However, the tennis star disclosed that, with the exception of her husband’s passport, most of the valuable items had been recovered.

Although the 80 years old, was not there to see the thrilling Australian Open final,  the event was made memorable by the Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic. And he made a significant confession about the 24-time Grand Slam winner.

Novak Djokovic is ready to hunt down Court’s major record 

The Serbian tennis player is poised to surpass the 80-year-old tennis legend’s record for the most Grand Slams after capturing her 22nd major championship. The 35-year-old aspires to pass Williams and eventually surpass Court’s record of 24 major titles after tying Rafael Nadal’s record.

The current world number one claims that winning as many slams as possible is what drives him. Since winning these medals is what makes him come back to the tennis courts as a motivation. And he has no plans to stop after the 22nd title. Additionally, he intends to go as far as his motivation would allow.

However, last year when the Serbian tennis player was not allowed to play in the Australian Open because of his unvaccinated status. At a time, when most tennis fans and  players were not happy with his decision. Court came out in Djokovic’s support. She talked about how different people have different perspectives on living their life.
