German tennis legend Steffi Graf is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players of all time. In her career, she won a whopping 22 Grand Slam singles titles, two behind Margaret Court, who has the highest number of Grand Slam titles (24).

During her career, she had many rivalries with different players. 18-time Grand Slam champion and former American tennis player Chris Evert was one of them. Despite the rivalry, they had mutual respect for each other. Recently, the American player shared a lovely message for Graf on Twitter.

After seeing the new cover photo of Graf on Vogue, Evert retweeted Simona Halep’s former coach, Darren Cahill’s original tweet and wrote, “Beautiful and strong lady…”

Evert’s comment was particularly delightful, as she and Graf had plenty of battles in the past. Both played 13 times against each other. Interestingly, Evert won the first six meetings, and the German won the last seven of their match-ups. By the time the German finished her career, she had 22 Grand Slam titles in her career whereas Evert had 18.
