The Russian-born Kazakh star Elena Rybakina has had a wonderful season up to the Italian Open this year. She won on the grass courts of Italy, igniting hope for her French Open title. But the viral infection halted her momentum in France. After recovery, however, the defending Champion at Wimbledon will try to repeat history again this year.
Along with Rybakina, two times grand slam winner Aryna Sabalenka too is a top contender for the Wimbledon. She defeated the World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the Madrid Open. However, her loss in the semifinal to Karolina Muchova was an immense disappointment to those who believed she would break Iga Swiatek’s dominance. Both Sabalenka and Rybakina will try their best to taste success at Wimbledon.

Aryna Sabalenka joins Elena Rybakina on the grass before Wimbledon
As Wimbledon is going to start on July 3, the defending champion along with the Belarussian star recently was spotted at a practice session together on the grass court. Though Kazakh star is the defending champion but many pundits believe Aryna Sabalenka will clinch the title this year.
This year Rybakina’s drop shots and double handed back handed strokes will of course be factors to be counted. But Aryna Sabalenka’s power shots and strong serve, too, will certainly be menacing to every opponent on the grass. And both of them will have a chance to get the third grand slam title, closer to Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka and Elena: Breaking the Swiatek dominance?
Iga Swiatek has four major titles. Rybakina and Sabalenka have two. Recently, when a reporter asked Swiatek what she thinks about the new deadly trio — Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina — her reply was brutal. She said that she does not care about the other two. And dubbed the ‘deadly trio’ concept a media construction.

Because Swiatek has not made it past the third round at Wimbledon before, she really needs to care about the duo. Swiatek too has recently described her discomfort on the grass. With Rybakina and Sabalenka coming close on the grass court means they will move closer to 4 grand slams of Swiatek. And that World No. 1 has something to worry about.
