Venus Williams has been trying her best to come back to the tour. The American legend has not been able to step on the court since featuring in Auckland, earlier this year. Despite being 42 years of age, she has not hinted at retirement. In fact, she has been regularly updating fans on her Instagram with some of her practice clips. In one of her recent posts, something strange caught the eye of former Serena Williams‘ coach, Rennae Stubbs

The former Australian tennis player who is also an established commentator now raised a really intriguing question. Stubbs’ question seemed to be a standout one in a pool of replies that mainly inquired about Williams’ comeback.

Venus Williams uploads a strange practice picture on Instagram

The 42-year old in her recent Instagram post expressed how much she owed to the sport. She said, ” I give it everything every time I step out on the court. That has set the pattern for my life off the court too. I owe so much to tennis and sport. It’s been my greatest teacher. And it still is. ” But what was strange about the post?

The strange part about the picture is that Venus Williams was captured playing left-handed. Rennae Stubbs said in the comments,” Are u [you] leftie now?”, asking Williams if she plans to play left-handed now. It was a mere throwaway comment but watching Venus Williams as a left-hander could be a lifetime experience.

Rennae Stubbs, the former Australian doubles number 1 was Williams’ coach at the US Open 2022. It was arguably the most memorable slam of the year as we all witnessed the legend Serena Williams pick up the racket for the last time.
