According to Fort Worth business reports, fortunately, her good friend, who carries an equal stature just like her, Navratilova, agreed to fill in for her at the event. After this announcement, EWD Chair Julie Butner talked about how having the 59-time Grand Slam Champion is also a great thing for the event.

She said, “This meshes well for EWD’s fundraising campaign for the Women’s Center and Boys & Girls Club [campaign] titled ‘Help A Sister Up. As you know, Martina and Chris had one of the greatest rivalries in sports, then they forged a friendship that has lasted 50 years. They became even closer when they both recently fought cancer.”
