A recent incident revealed to the fans that British former US Open champion Emma Raducanu is just like us. Raducanu defeated Caroline Garcia at the Bille Jean King Cup tournament’s qualifier round. It was an epic victory for her and her fans since last season’s March. This is because Emma Raducanu had undergone wrist and ankle surgery in March and has been mostly losing her matches. However, that is not the talk of the topic for today.

While taking down Garcia at the court, Raducanu made a silly mistake and brought a short moment of laughter to the court. However, quick-witted Raducanu managed her mistake and adorably smiled through her marvelous comeback victory.

Britain’s Emma Raducanu defeated France’s Caroline Garcia in a dramatic match in Le Portal yesterday. However, the internet is having a moment of laughter as they cherish one moment from the match beyond its result. In her match against Garcia, Raducanu led the third set of her match with a 5-1 lead with a strong serve. She thought that she had already won the match against France and moved forward to the net to shake hands with the opponent. After walking a few steps, this British WTA star realized her mistake and corrected it with an adorable smile. Raducanu finally won the match but it was a funny moment for the whole stadium. The Bille Jean King Cup’s official X (formerly Twitter) shared this moment with a caption that says- “Whoops, @EmmaRaducanu.” 

Raducanu has spoken about the moment and said- “I don’t know what happened. It was quite embarrassing! All I was thinking was: ‘If I lose this, I’m going to look a right muppet’. So I’m very happy I managed to pull it through,”

Nevertheless, she won the match against Garcia and showed a great sign of happiness afterward. It felt like Raducanu was finally confident after a year-long break and was ready to fulfill her tennis goals.

Raducanu pulled off a great victory by 6-3 and 6-2 against France. This British former US Open champion has advanced in the qualifying tie 1-1 after her teammate Katie Boulter was defeated by France’s Diane Parry. Since this WTA star had a rough time last year, she is the lowest rank-holder player in Team Britain. However, her victory against Garcia motivated her and made her confident. Raducanu commented- “I’m very pleased with my performances and to bring this point home for the team, I definitely turned it around, I fought really hard, I dug in and that was a really good test for myself as I haven’t had those level matches very often.”

Raducanu spoke about playing against Caroline Garcia-“It’s very difficult to play against Caroline who has been having such good runs and many good seasons. I was completely the underdog coming out here in her house, on clay.”
