Recently, the Reddit co-founder shared his opinion on Elon Musk’s drastic move to cut down negative tweets as part of his new Twitter policies.

Alexis Ohanian agrees with Elon Musk over this one change

Elon Musk, the CEO of Space X and Tesla, has brought on several drastic changes since he took control over Twitter. A new Twitter policy, just implemented by Musk, explains the demonetization of offensive or hateful tweets. The new approach focuses on debating unfavorable tweets so that no ads or money are made from them.

Earlier today, the Reddit co-founder shared his opinion about the same and tweeted, “This is an important distinction I’ve been talking about for years and happy to see. Social media has 100% control over who they give reach & legitimacy to and should be judicious.”

The 39-year-old investor discussed the importance of this decision because social media, especially Twitter, is filled with negative or hate tweets. Serena Williams‘ husband also disclosed that he has constantly discussed this idea, which Much has now openly embraced, and that is obviously needed in the current era.

Ohanian wants to build up a Twitter API

As soon as Elon Musk took charge, tech giants demanded that the API should be made public, and it’s better for everyone. The co-founder of Reddit shared his thoughts on the matter and said that an API for the social media platform would be beneficial for his own company.

Despite agreeing with such changes, Ohanian has opposed the subscription plan for getting a ‘blue tick’ verification mark. He went on to say that such ideas could see a drastic decline in users and the eventual downfall of the platform.
