

American tennis great Serena Williams is among the most inspirational athletes in the world. Apart from her rich legacy as a tennis player, the 41-year-old also is a big advocate of women’s sports. Recently, legendary NBA star Kobe Bryant’s daughter also took one such initiative.

The former world number 1 supports initiatives to bridge the gender gap and motivates young girls to take up sports. Natalia Bryant also recently shared a video where she inaugurated a new basketball court and provided both young girls and boys with an opportunity to play the game together. Serena genuinely appreciated this initiative.
Serena Williams lauds Natalia Bryant’s initiative
Natalia Bryant was present at Phoenix for the inauguration of another basketball court. She then met with the kids and encouraged them to play together. The main motive behind the initiative is to make the kids believe that both boys and girls can actually play together.

“We want you guys to know that boys and girls can play against each other and have a healthy competition,” Natalia said.
Serena Williams understands the importance of such initiatives, especially for girls. She was quick to laud Natalia. Serena took to her Instagram account and shared Natalia’s post in her story with love emoticons.
Serena turns assistant coach for her daughter
The prowess of Serena Williams in tennis is something known to all. The legendary tennis star’s daughter is also interested in sports. However, most people will be surprised to know that the sport the young Williams chose is not tennis.

The five-year-old has a liking for football and her mother stands behind her to support her choice. Recently, Serena took Olympia for her first practice session and the little one was too scared to leave her mother’s side. Serena accompanied her and found out that the team needed volunteers for the position of assistant coach. Serena accepted the challenge and ended up volunteering as an assistant coach.
