Serena Williams has carried the name of women’s tennis to new heights. The player’s dominance in the sport for years and her strong gameplay, brought the immense interest of the public to tennis. The serving style of the player is jaw-dropping and has proved beneficial to her on more than one account.

Serena Williams attributed her serve to be a natural trait of hers. However, her father Richard Williams disagreed and gave reasons for the way she serves.

Serena Williams had won 13 grand slam titles till 2012 and was still on top of her game. The player’s serve had already made the news. Serving aces had helped the player win deciding matches in Wimbledon 2012 and also her 14th grand slam title. The American player talked about it and attributed it to a natural talent of hers. She said, “I don’t know how it got better,”

Furthermore, she added, “It’s not like I go home and I work on baskets and baskets of serves. Maybe it’s a natural shot for me.” However, her father and first coach did not agree with her. He refuted that and told that he had both the sisters, “throwing rocks, baseballs, footballs.”

He chose a different parenting style and said, “Most parents would buy their child a doll: I was teaching them to throw.” Furthermore, he added, “That’s why boys throw better than girls. And the better you throw the better you serve.”
Williams is gearing up to win her 24th grand slam title at the US Open 2022
The 23-time grand slam champion, now ten years down the line, has ten more grand slam titles under her name. Her serve and gaming style both have gained more experience with the time she has spent on the court.
