American legendary tennis player Venus Williams is one of the best grass-court players in this open era as she won five out of her seven Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon. Earlier, Venus announced that she would not be competing at Wimbledon this year in a Q&A session on her Instagram account.

Many fans expressed their disappointment after this news as they thought she would also announce her return after Serena announced her return. Now, it seemed like there’s a good chance we might see the elder Williams sister at SW19.

Venus Williams is seen practicing at the Wimbledon Championships 2022

Today, at the Wimbledon Championships, fans spotted a familiar face on the practice courts. It was none other than the seven-time Grand Slam champion, Venus Williams. According to reports, she was looking great during the practice sessions. After this, many fans and experts started speculating about her potential return to Wimbledon this year.

Earlier, the women’s singles and doubles draws have already taken place and Venus’ name wasn’t there. However, we have yet to see the mixed doubles draw and many players have not entered their names. So, it is very much plausible that we might see Venus in the mixed doubles draw.

Could we see the Venus-Kyrgios pair once again?

It is worth noting that Venus paired up with the Aussie entertainer Nick Kyrgios for the mixed doubles tournament at Wimbledon last year. Many picked them to win the whole tournament as they looked like a formidable duo on paper. Satisfying the expectations, they won the first round to show their great partnership on the tennis court.

However, Kyrgios suffered an unfortunate injury that forced them to withdraw from their second-round match at the competition. So, we never got to see their full potential as a tennis pair. Interestingly, this year we could see them again pairing up to play mixed doubles again. Although they have not confirmed anything about the same, it could be a genuine possibility this year.
