Recently, Bouchard has been away from tennis owing to her injury struggles. She has been out for over a year now. Yesterday, she made her presence felt at the ESPY Awards ceremony.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share glimpses of her stunning look during the event. Sharing pictures via a story on her official Instagram handle, she said, “Ready for ESPYs (bringing my heels with me).”

Meanwhile, Bouchard hasn’t played a competitive match since March, last year. Her last tournament was in Monterrey, Mexico, where she suffered a first-round defeat against Lin Zhu of China. Subsequently, she suffered a shoulder injury, which has kept her away from tennis since. As a result of her lengthy injury layoff, the Canadian star has dropped out of the WTA rankings.

Bouchard’s comeback plans
Recently, Bouchard skipped the Wimbledon Championships as ranking points weren’t available for this year’s tournament. However, she hopes to play in the upcoming hard-court season.

Last month, Bouchard confirmed her participation at the Citi Open. The WTA 250 hard-court tournament will be held in Washington DC from August 1. Bouchard has been handed a wildcard entry to play in this tournament. She will be joined by the likes of Victoria Azarenka and Jessica Pegula at the tournament.
