Johanna Konta expecting a child

The former British Number 1 announced pregnancy via a post on her official Twitter handle. Showing off her baby bump, she said, “Busy baking my own little muffin right now.”

Apart from tennis, Konta is also fond of baking, hence making a reference to it. Earlier, she had competed on ‘The Great British Bake-Off’ show in 2020, showing off her baking skills.

In December, last year, Konta announced her retirement from tennis. She was troubled with knee injuries and battled an inconsistent run of form that led to this decision. Announcing this decision, she said, “My playing career has come to an end, and I am so incredibly grateful for the career that it turned out to be.”

Andy Murray pulls out of the Italian Open

The British tennis star was due to face Novak Djokovic in the pre-quarterfinals of the Madrid Open. However, he had to withdraw from the tournament owing to food poisoning.

Subsequently, Murray decided to pull out of the qualifying rounds of the Italian Open, in order to recover completely from this latest setback. However, the three-time Grand Slam champion will hope to get back fit in time for the French Open scheduled later this month.
