After gaining an amazing victory at the WTA Hong Kong tournament followed by making an impressive run to the semi-finals at WTA Nan Chang, rising tennis star Leylah Fernandez held the standards high with her recent performance. The young Canadian sensation, known for her undivided attention on the court and a playful attitude off it, recently revealed a lighthearted and playful side of her life.

Taking to her Instagram, Fernandez shared a candid screenshot that served a mix of amusement as well as surprise to the fans. In a recent WhatsApp conversation with a friend, the 21-year-old tennis star exposed fans to her not-so-perfect singing skills. The story depicted her sending audio notes to a friend in which she could be heard singing the famous “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. The light-hearted exchange also showed a humorous angle as her friend jokingly captioned the story with, “How do I politely tell her to stick to tennis?”

Fernandez being herself, also playfully responded by captioning the story reshare as, “I’m A Great Singer. I’m Considering a career change.” The story acted as a perfect example of the lighthearted side that keeps the stress away from the young Canadian star. However, this wasn’t the first time that fans got to witness her love for music.

The 20-year-old tennis star also exposed her social media followers to a glimpse of her training routine at the Crandon Park Tennis Center in Key Biscayne, Florida. However, besides being a hard routine session that tennis players generally follow, the story came out with a twist.

In a clip that she shared on her Instagram, the young champion was seen energetically running up the stairs at the stadium. While setting the mood for her training montage, Fernandez also added the classic track “Gonna Fly Now” to the video, as it added a vicious spirit to the whole training video.
