Leylah Fernandez discusses her own singing talent

After finding a place for herself in the tennis world, Leylah Fernandez has also found a passion while trying new activities during the off-season. She recently took to Instagram to share a video in which she was seen singing her vocals while she took on a new role for herself.

However, the conclusion is that it was not that great; even the 21-year-old tennis star wrote a detailed caption and talked about her poor singing skills.

She mentioned, “Just like in tennis, where every rally teaches us something new, life throws us opportunities to pick up new skills. I’m here to share a little secret: I’m absolutely terrible at singing, but that doesn’t stop me from belting out tunes in the shower, during car rides, or in front of my entire family during the holidays.”

Along with that, she stated that the fear of being imperfect should not hold anyone back while they enjoy life with passion and enthusiasm. In the video, she was seen enjoying a karaoke night while trying to strike high notes, not caring about what other people would think of her.

She has previously spoken about her lackluster singing abilities. A few days ago, the rising star from Canada revealed a lighthearted surprise career move, indicating that she has interests outside of tennis. That being said, let’s examine how, with singing on her mind, she was prepared to make a change in her sporting career.

When Fernandez thought of taking a turn from tennis

After winning the WTA Hong Kong tournament and leaving a strong impression at the WTA, Nan Chang, a 21-year-old, showed off her playful side while revealing a conversation with her friend. She took to her Instagram and shared a candid conversation screenshot where she talked about her not-so-perfect singing skills.

In the story, she gave some audio notes to a friend in which she could be heard singing “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. Along with that, her friend captioned the story with a humorous angle and wrote, “How do I politely tell her to stick to tennis?”

However, given how much she has enjoyed singing, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that she now has a place in her heart for this new passion aside from tennis.
