Canada’s favourite, Eugenie Bouchard is throwing a party in New York and all are invited. Craving for a snack, the 27-year-old took to her Instagram, to find out the best pizza restaurant in her vicinity. When fans stormed her DM’s with suggestions, she invited them to join her and grab a bite.

What seemed like a light-hearted conversation at first lead to a packed restaurant with the Canadian on a dinner date with over a dozen of her fans. It was a wholesome moment, and fans showed up in large numbers for a chance to meet the star and get a free slice of pizza too. “I can’t believe you all showed up. I love when social media brings people together. Pizza parties forever,” she wrote.

It wasn’t long ago that the Canadian underwent surgery on her right shoulder. She suffered an injury mid-game earlier this year and tried various conservative methods of rehab. However, after not benefitting much from them, she opted to undergo surgery.

The 27-year-old is now on her road to recovery with pizza and fans coming to her aid. As she documented her day on Instagram via one too many story posts, the Canadian was found to be running late to her own party. Ironically, her guests packed the seating stalls at Joe’s Pizza, while their host raced her way through the lanes of New York. Genie eventually made it just in time to try the fan recommended outlet and treat her followers to some classic NYC delicacies.

“Look, I’m not going to lie, it’s been part enjoyable and part torture. I wish I was there so badly especially with not having the event last year, because of the pandemic so it feels extra long since we’ve been there. Seeing those beautiful grass courts and all the fans, it’s just so nice, but I wish I was there so badly,” she said.
