Like Serena Williams, her husband, Alexis Ohanian, has overcome all odds to carve a niche for himself in the business world. Within months of launching his company, Reddit, Alexis’ mother, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Understandably, it was a tough time for him which sunk him into depression.

On numerous occasions, Alexis has been vocal about mental health issues. Eventually, he coped with these problems and worked hard to make his business venture successful. Recently, he remembered the painful moment of his mother’s cancer diagnosis.

Alexis Ohanian invests in a new venture

The Reddit co-founder took to Twitter to announce his investment in a new business venture. He said, “My mom was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer just a few months into founding @reddit — I can’t change the past, but I believe we’re at a tipping point for genetic analysis and @KianSadeghi5 + the @Nucleusgenomics can help us all live healthier (and longer) lives in the future.

Nucleus Genomics, the NYC-based company, raised $14 million in a new funding round led by Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six. The company aims to build a DTC genetic testing platform that will provide genetic risk and disposition score analyzes on several diseases.

Serena Williams announces her next tournament after Wimbledon

Earlier this week, the 23-time Grand Slam champion confirmed her participation at the National Bank Open in Toronto, Canada. It will be Serena’s first tournament after Wimbledon. Last month, she made her much-awaited comeback at the Wimbledon Championships. However, her comeback didn’t go according to her plans.
