The tennis legend tied knots with her beloved husband, Alexis Ohanian, back in 2017. Williams had given birth to her adorable daughter in September and in November the couple decided to tie a knot. However, the dream of walking down the aisle with her father could not come true for Serena Williams. He had texted her an hour before the wedding that he could not come.

She had talked about it in the HBO docuseries, ‘Being Serena‘. She said, “I know he was really excited.” Williams conveyed her father’s message and said, “But then he wrote me and said, ‘Serena, I don’t want you to be mad at me, but I just can’t walk you down the aisle. I’m not myself anymore. I’m just too nervous.'”

The player understood her father’s take and that he prefers to be around fewer people. She said, “If he doesn’t want to be up there in front of a lot of people, I completely understand.”
