Yesterday, the Danish tennis star knocked out the 11th seed, Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in straight sets. It was a dominant display from Wozniacki, giving away very little to her opponent. Further, her victory was widely celebrated in the tennis world. Even the 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena took note of Wozniacki’s win.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Serena shared Wozniacki’s winning moment via a story. Additionally, she tagged her friend and wrote, “Yessssss,” along with a kissing emoji and some smileys with hearts emoji.

Talking about Wozniacki’s performance, she was effective during return games, breaking Kvitova’s serve four times during the match. That ultimately proved to be the difference as she prevailed in a match lasting just over 2 hours.

Opening up about it, she said, “Serena (Williams) and I had dinner a few weeks ago, and when I told her my plan she just said, ‘Wow—good for you. I’m going to cheer you on every step of the way, and if you ever need anything, I’m here.’ She’s always been there for me.”
