Aryna Sabalenka‘s 26th birthday cake’s funny “Oops!” moment has stolen fans’ hearts for all the right reasons. While Sabalenka’s luck didn’t permit against the Polish tennis star this year, she still managed to pull off an interesting cake stunt bringing smiles to her fans’ faces. Well, Sabalenka’s birthday cake has been a topic of controversy during the Madrid Open last year. Well, this year, although she could not snatch the Madrid Open title, her heartiest laugh in the recent post is making tours all over the internet.

This Belarusian top-tier WTA star recently shared a clip on her official Instagram profile where fans spotted clumsy Sabalenka dropping her birthday cake as she tried to show it off to her social media family. While she held the plate in a standing position to show the cake, she dropped it and then started laughing in amusement. In this clip, she was spotted saying- “Hello everyone this is my birthday. Oops!”

This Australian Open winner recently is in her “happy place” Rome, and enjoying there with her friends. She went to a restaurant there to celebrate her 26th birthday and shot this absolutely funny video. Sharing this hilarious reel, Sabalenka captioned it- “Thank you for all of the birthday love 💜 26 is off to a great start 😉”

While Aryna Sabalenka’s recent cake stunt brought her fans a toll of laughter, they remembered how last year Sabalenka faced misogyny on her birthday. The organizers of the Madrid Open tour gave this Belarusian WTA star a comparatively smaller birthday cake than her colleague Carlos Alcaraz.  In fact, Alcaraz’s multi-tier birthday cake compared to Sabalenka’s smaller one drew many criticisms. However, this Belarusian WTA star didn’t pay attention to any of these discriminations and showed her worth by pulling off a victory at the finals.

Proud Aryna Sabalenka responded to her cake controversy with an interesting dig at the Madrid Open committee

Last year, when Sabalenka received her cake on a day off when she was getting ready for the final, Alcaraz received his dessert after defeating Borna Coric to go to the final. On the court, Alcaraz was given a massive two-tier cake with a tennis ball and a “20” on top, with sparklers all around it. In contrast, Sabalenka received a birthday cake that was regular in size, complete with candles, sparklers, and the words “Happy Birthday Aryna” written on top.

Sabalenka’s fans were disappointed to see this discrimination against the Belarusian WTA star on her birthday. In a sport where women and men are still fighting for equality, the implication was that the male player had once again been given preference.

However, like always, Sabalenka not only ignored the gesture but also took a dig at the organizers with her statement. Sabalenka said- “I think it’s all because of yesterday’s cake. It was too good.” Belarusian tennis player here refers to the birthday cake as a catalyst for her incredible victory against Iga Swiatek at the Madrid Open finals last year.

Nevertheless, Sabalenka’s fans know that she is not a player to get bothered by such silly things as cake size in life. However, her cake misery this year represents that she might be an Australian Open winner but she is just like the rest of us. While Sabalenka’s cake dropped on the floor, fans couldn’t get over her beautiful laughter at the moment. What do you think?
