Only a month or so has passed and the WTA stars are already gearing up for the 2025 season. The WTA stars have touched down in Australia, ready to showcase their magic as the new season unfolds. Amid the excitement, a tennis enthusiast’s comment has sparked a debate, shedding light on the stressful challenges players face because of the hectic scheduling.
Coco Gauff revealed her intense physical training sessions previously on social media. Recently, she dropped an IG story update about flying to the land of Kangaroos and showed off her New Balance CG2 sneakers ahead of the United Cup participation. In between, this former US Open champion also enjoyed a fun ride on Christmas in Australia.
Like Gauff, the defending champion of the Australian Open tournament Aryna Sabalenka is also in Brisbane. Her recent IG story updates highlighted her session with her teammates as she gears up for the Brisbane International. These WTA stars’ updates showcase that despite the 2024 year still running with festivities, the players are already in the 2025 season preparing for the year’s first tournaments.

Reflecting on Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka‘s updates about their preparations, tennis player, and YouTuber, Karue Sell tweeted on X, “Isn’t it interesting how it’s not even Christmas of 2024 and players are already traveling for the 2025 season? Didn’t the season end like 9 seconds ago?” His statement highlighted how the players are left with minimal time for vacationing or enjoying their off-season.
Now, the WTA stars have already talked about the hectic scheduling. For example, the Italian Open and the Roland Garros don’t have a month of gap in between. This stresses out the players and often kills their form and motivation. If players skip tournaments they lose points leading to a chance of losing their good ranking.

Iga Swiatek commented on the “really tough” scheduling of the sport
During the 2024 US Open, the Polish player delved deeper into the hectic tennis scheduling. She said, “ think players are aware that this is crazy what’s going on, and the schedule is really tough. I know that, I mean, I spoke about it in Cincinnati, for example, and there are people saying that, oh, I don’t have to play so many tournaments, but truth, like the fact is that we have so many mandatory tournaments that we literally need to, you know, show up and we don’t have time to, like, work on stuff or, like believe peacefully, because from one tournament we’re going straight to another.”

Swiatek’s statement shed light on the reality expressing how hard it must have been for players to remain fit and in form when the tournaments are scheduled so close. However, the Polish star also highlighted that many players are not aware of the change in the system and its rules since they have limited influence over the system. Despite that, if the players’ pleas are heard, Swiatek thinks they will perform even better.
