Coco Gauff Confesses To Rare Emotional Moment With Brother During Her Family’s Dangerous Act Down Under

Coco Gauff has often acknowledged the unwavering support of her family throughout her career. Her parents even gave up their professions to focus on training their daughter. The player is also very close to her two siblings, Codey and Cameron. While she rarely has time to spend with her family, whenever she finds a chance, Gauff makes sure to commemorate the occasion by connecting with her loved ones. And sometimes such gatherings bring out the family bond and love the siblings have for each other.

Recently, in an interview, Gauff opened up about a wholesome moment between her and her brother Codey. While everyone was busy preparing for their 2024 season, Coco Gauff visited New Zealand along with her siblings to experience a daring adventure. But instead she returned home with a heart-touching memory that will last a lifetime.

Coco Gauff had a good time in Auckland. Just before going on to defend her title at the ASB Classic in the new year, she was seen unleashing her adventurous side to bid farewell to 2023. She took a daring jump from the Tall Sky Tower in Auckland and also shared those moments with her fans on social media. Gauff was seen having a wonderful time with her family, but there was a missing member from the thrill-seeking group. Guess who?

Codey chose to sit this one out. However, just before Coco Gauff was about to embark on the thrilling jump, she found a rare display of love for her from his brother. She said, “The only time this year, the only time I remember him saying, it was right before we jumped off the Sky Tower. He said, ‘If anything happens, I just want to say I love you guys’. That was the first time he told me, I told him that I loved him this year. It’s been like, what, three weeks in the year.”

Coco Gauff has earlier talked about her admiration for Codey, who has been been a constant presence through all her up and downs. A few months back, she reflected on her love publicly for her young brother, and here’s what she said about Codey.

The 19-year-old American tennis icon has previously spoken about how she values the lessons she has learnt from her younger siblings. Gauff said, “I think honestly you learn almost more from kids that you do from adults at times because they are so, I guess, unbiased and carefree in the world.”

She then went on to add, “Especially my brother Codey. He has this really confident but low-key persona about him. That’s something that I really try to emulate on the court.”

While the star player had a wholesome start to her personal life in 2024, her professional endeavours also saw some significant triumphs, starting with the Australian Open. Coco Gauff defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova by 6-3,6-0 in her first match at the AO. She will now face her compatriot, Caroline Dolehide at the second round on Wednesday. Coco Gauff is currently on a 6 match-winning run in 2024. Can she make it to 7 in the next match?
