Coco Gauff Cries ‘Foul’ as She Lashes Out at ‘Ugly’ Attempt to Back Americans Playing in the Australian Open

Now that the Australian Open is underway, the United States Tennis Association recently came up with the idea of hailing the seeded American participants in the tournament The national governing body for tennis in the US shared a cartoon post, inspired by the animated series Wild Thornberrys, featuring both ATP and WTA American players. However, Coco Gauff is not impressed with the same, as she recently dropped her reaction on social media.
After her triumphant run at the ASB Classic, the American tennis prodigy will now play her opening-round match at the Grand Slam in Melbourne. As she is the fourth-seeded player, Gauff was also part of the USTA’s cartoon post that has made her and her compatriots “look so ugly.”

The United States Tennis Association recently shared cartoon art featuring the likes of Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and their male counterparts, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiaofe, Taylor Fritz, and others. While labeling it the ‘Seeded Americans at the Australian Open,’ the American tennis authority added the caption, “The 🇺🇸 crew is ready Down Under 🌏🦘”

Reacting to it, the 19-year-old Coco Gauff expressed her disapproval of the cartoon art on social media. While retweeting the post, the reigning Grand Slam champion stated, “bruh…. what even is this 😂”

Even in her Instagram story, the 19-year-old made it clear that she did not like this USTA cartoon post. She stated, “worst thing I’ve ever seen. like a caricatures artist just decided to make as all look like hideous looking people the art style is cool for a cartoon show but not for a hype post. foul”
