Coco Gauff Expresses Her Support and Solidarity for England Soccer Players After Euro 2020 Loss

Coco Gauff crashed out of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships in the round of 16 stage. She took part in the women’s singles, as well as the women’s doubles category. The fans and pundits, however, applauded her efforts at the grass-court event, as she is still only 17-years old. Now, the American teen has expressed her support for the England soccer team and its players.
Coco lost to Angelique Kerber in the round of 16 stage, 6-4, 6-4. However, she was keeping track of another major event taking place in England. She has spoken out in support of the English players after the team’s loss.

Coco Gauff supporting England’s players
The Euro 2020 final was played between England and Italy at the Wembley Stadium. Eminent personalities, fans, and other sports stars attended the final at a packed Wembley stadium. However, the home team could not cross the final hurdle after a splendid performance throughout the tournament. Italy beat England 3-2 in penalties, after the full-time score ending on 1-1.

The tournament did not end well for a few players. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka missed their penalty kicks during the shootout after extra time. Consequently, the three players became a soft target for racist attacks by fans on social media.
