Coco Gauff is currently having her best time in Rome! After suffering from a semi-final loss in singles and finals loss in doubles at the Italian Open, Coco Gauff’s dream of conquering a title in Rome came to a disappointing end. But keeping away all the sadness, Gauff is now engrossed in exploring the city with her mother by her side.

The reigning U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff’s mom, recently posted a series of pictures on her Instagram account. In one of them, her daughter is trying the prime delicacy of Italy, pizza. With a slice in her hand, Gauff, with her eyes closed, was fully immersed in enjoying the iconic dish from likely a local pizzeria. However, the next post revealed an adorable selfie of Coco Gauff with her mother, Candi Gauff. Both of them, wearing sunglasses on their eyes, are seen enjoying their time in the local market of the city.

The vacation pictures further continued in her next post as well. And in this one, Candi posted a closeup of two polaroids of herself in front of Rome’s famous architectural structure, the Colosseum. They clicked two Polaroid pictures of them sitting there, with the background showing the Colosseum. Candi held those pictures in front of the structure, with the caption “ROMA”.

Coco Gauff’s mother, who has been a track and field athlete at Florida State University, has always supported Gauff throughout her career. Therefore, when it came to supporting her after her disappointing loss in the semifinal against Iga Swiatek, she took up her usual role of cheering up Gauff. Especially after Gauff revealed her emotions after the match.

“I would say from just this match, I feel more negative emotions right now. Looking at the whole tournament from where I started to now, I definitely feel like it’s major improvement.”

However, the 20-year-old player who fell short with a score of 6-4, 6-3 on Friday now seems to be in a lighter mood. And the credit for that goes to her mother, who previously revealed why she does not go to watch her daughter’s tournaments on-court.

“I’m the supportive mom,” reveals Coco Guaff’s mother

Candi Gauff has always been vocal about her support for her daughter’s achievements on-court. Be it posting about her matches on her Instagram or cheering her up, Candi has never backed down from showing her love for Coco Gauff. However, she does not like to be on-court watching Gauff play.

In an interview, she revealed, “I try to back away on the court because too many voices can be a crowd. I let my husband be the coach, and I’m the supportive mom, the one if she hurts or is crying that she can communicate with.”

Although in 2023 when we saw Gauff win her first Grand Slam in the U.S. Open, Candi was not only there but also celebrating with her unique dance moves. However, off the court, her support for Gauff is also as remarkable as it is on court. And we saw another glimpse of that during their vacation time in Rome!
