America’s reigning US Open champion, Coco Gauff can’t keep calm! She recently found her coach, Brad Gilbert, on the silver screen. Gauff went to experience her favorite icon, Zendaya’s latest tennis-themed movie, Challengers. However, she received a bonus! While fans already knew that Gauff’s famous coach trained the protagonist, Tashi Duncan, they had no clue about witnessing Gilbert’s acting skills. Adding her reactions, Gauff expresses how much she respects and adores Brad Gilbert.

This brilliant WTA star recently shared two updates on her official Instagram story. In the first story, fans spotted Gauff holding two tickets to Zendaya’s Challengers. Posting this photo of tickets in her hand, Gauff wrote, “Very good!“. This reigning US Open champion also added a clap emoji to showcase her excitement about the movie. However, the next story becomes more interesting. Here, fans spotted Gauff sharing a clip from the movie, where Brad Gilbert also made a cameo. Gilbert was spotted in the scene, where he was helping actor Mike Faust practice on the court. Sharing this clip, Gauff added another caption: “@bgtennisnation I see you coach karl @challengers movie.” 

Coco Gauff’s admiration and love for her coach, Brad Gilbert, are often visible to her fans. This year, Gilbert couldn’t attend the reigning US Open champion’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix tournament. It was due to the Challengers LA premiere. When the interviewers jokingly asked Coco Gauff if her coach prioritized Zendaya over her, Gauff said, “No, he did not choose Zendaya over me (smiling).” This American WTA star also seemed very excited to watch the film, “I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I’m excited. I think people shouldn’t go into the movie critiquing the tennis. I think really that’s just not what the story is about. So he [Gilbert] did tell me that,” 

Gauff’s revelation expressed that she and her coach, Brad Gilbert, truly share a unique bond. After receiving endless support from Gilbert, Gauff made sure she returned to her coach with the same amount of love and support for this new feather in his cap. While this reigning US Open champion is moved to see her favorite icon and her coach sharing the same screen, Gilbert just wanted to focus on the movie’s tennis aspect.

Brad Gilbert feels the Challengers plot is “little out there” for him

During Gauff’s attendance at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at Stuttgart, the WTA star shared titbits about Brad Gilbert and Challengers. During the press conference, Gauff admitted that her coach, Brad Gilbert, only wanted to focus on the movie’s tennis aspect. Gauff said, “You know, I will say he said the movie was a little out there for a 60-year-old man with the threesome and everything like that. He did say that. But he said I just wanted to focus on the tennis and not the storyline, but for me, I love that type of stuff,”

Coco Gauff’s revelation about her famous coach Brad Gilbert’s Challengers experience reveals that Gilbert is a dedicated tennis admirer. Despite getting a chance to experience the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, Gilbert chose to remain true to his sport and help Zendaya and others portray the essence of tennis properly to the world.
