Following a disappointing campaign at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, it may be time for Coco Gauff to restart, reset, and refocus. Shortly after her straight-set defeat to Dayana Yastremska in the first round at SW19, Gauff said that she was not going to dwell on the setback for too long because she wants to do well at the US Open. “Maybe losing here first round isn’t the worst thing in the world because I have time to reset,” Gauff added. She will be next seen in action in Montreal, where she will be playing against her compatriot, Danielle Collins, for the very first time in her career. But before that meeting with ‘Danimal’, Gauff took out some time to appreciate some of her most dedicated fans, and boy, was the appreciation met with a terrific response.

On Saturday, Gauff took to X with a message to her fans: “shoutout to all the homies pulling up to my matches in CG1s, CG2s, and The Delrays. Not that I have favorites amongst y’all butttt if you pull up in those i’m signing, or taking a pic, basically whatever you want me to do, it’s always crazy for me to see ppl wearing my shoes fr❤️.” Well, looks like Gauff might just have to go back on her word and pick a favorite.

After seeing this post, a fan shared a picture that had four pairs of Coco Gauff’s New Balance shoes. And it was not just the shoes. A second picture showed the fan’s massive collection of limited-edition Coco Gauff Wheaties boxes that were released last year, thanks to a collaboration between the world no. 2 and Breakfast of Champions. The fan wrote, “I have plenty for you to sign. Good luck in Montreal. 😊,” in the captions. Of course, Gauff was thoroughly impressed. “wow!! this is next level 🤩,” she wrote, responding to the tweet.

Known for her signature on-court style, Coco Gauff has been taking tennis fashion to new levels with her stunning New Balance shoes. Her partnership with New Balance started in 2018, and she’s now the only active tennis player with her own signature shoes. Coco Gauff launched her signature ‘CG1’ in the summer of 2022. Then, in 2024, New Balance announced the second edition of her signature shoes, the ‘CG2’, which, although influenced heavily by Gauff’s favorite New Balance 550s, had an identity of its own. Not only was the basketball stitching on the tongue replaced by a tennis ball, but one shoe also had her father’s phrase, “You can change the world with your racket” inscribed on it while the other had the coordinates of her childhood courts.

It was in her signature ‘CG1s’ that Coco Gauff won her major Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open, while her title defence campaign a year later saw her sporting the ‘CG2s’. Following that, on March 13, 2025, New Balance launched the ‘Coco Delray’ to celebrate her hometown in a model designed for more casual on-court play and off-court styling.

New Balance has supported me since my junior tennis years and has been by my side for the biggest moments of my career,” the Florida native shared in a press conference last year. Naturally, she never shies away from showing her appreciation for fans who honor that journey.

During the 2023 Citi Open, she was seen showing her appreciation for her fans by signing autographs on her signatureCG1′ shoes. Following that fan interaction session, she shared a picture of that on her IG stories with the caption,I signed a lot of CG1’s last night. (Still a crazy feeling). I appreciate ya’ll for supporting me. Thank You. Perhaps, we’re going to see some similar moments this year in Montreal as well. But how excited is she to take part in this event, though?

Having said that, she stated that it’s great to be back in Montreal.I’m happy to be back here. I like this tournament a lot and would love to do great here one of these years. All she now hopes is to have a good start to the hard-court tour, since this will be her first tournament on this surface since last March.
