Coco Gauff and Jalen Sera’s low-key relationship has gradually come to light in the last year or so. Although not officially, the 21-year-old WTA pro has often shared her special bond with the Atlanta-born musician. Remember how last April, she confessed to being in the “first real relationship” of her life? Later, Gauff went on to talk about how special she feels “To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective.” 

Well, the loving chemistry between the young couple only grew stronger when Sera also publicly shared a heartwarming wish on Coco’s birthday in March this year. “Happy birthdayyyy @cocogauff Big 21! I hope it’s your best one yet.” Now, a month later, Coco has come up with a touching gesture to make Sera’s big day even more special, all while being 3,582 miles away from her sweetheart.

Gauff’s Madrid Open campaign is going into full swing this week. So far, she’s been on a winning streak. In the first round, she managed to outperform Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska, after trailing in the first set. On Saturday, the 21-year-old registered another victory in R32 against compatriot Ann Li, while moving into the R16. With this, Gauff joined an elite group, becoming only the fifth player aged 21 or younger to reach the round of 16 at WTA 1000/Tier one events for the 25th time or more. But the day held another special significance.

April 26th this year marked her boyfriend Jalen Sera’s 23rd birthday! The American tennis star took her IG story and shared a photo, featuring Jalen and his twin brother, Terence, who share their birthday on the same day. Gauff delighted them with a heartwarming message. “Happy birthday to my fav twins @jalensera @iamterencejt 🎉💙,” she wrote. But this was not just it.

Hours later, Sera reposted Gauff’s story on IG while thanking her. He wrote, “Merci beaucoup💙” (“Thanks a lot” in French).

Just like this year, Coco Gauff also celebrated Jalen Sera’s birthday last year. That celebration occurred a day after Gauff’s first-round victory against Arantxa Rus in Madrid.

Despite her busy schedule following the win, Gauff made sure to wish her boyfriend and his twin brother a happy 22nd birthday. She even reminisced about a joyful picnic they had shared. Gauff posted on Instagram, “Happy birthday, @jalensera, @iamterencejt 22!!” Overjoyed by Gauff’s message and fondly remembering their special day, Sera replied, “This was a great day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

The loving chemistry between the two has been inevitable. On various occasions, they have extended unending support to each other. Remember how BF Sera comforted Gauff when she was unable to control her nerves ahead of the 2022 French Open final? To avoid overthinking, she thought to call him and they had a long conversation.

“I told him, ‘Let’s talk until it’s time to go to sleep,’ so we spoke until 1:00 a.m. and then I went to sleep,” she previously revealed. The late night talks, according to Gauff, proved helpful, too, as they pumped her up to “give it my all”.

And when they are not able to interact, due to work and a hectic schedule, she still can’t help but think of Sera. It was evident to witness during her Stuttgart Open campaign a few days back.

Coco Gauff chooses BF Jalen Sera as her ultimate traveling buddy

Coco Gauff competed at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart last week. During one of the media interactions at the event, the 2023 US Open winner was asked about her road trip plans. Spilling the beans on her favorite destination, she replied, “Oregon”. And who did she pick as her travel buddy?

When asked who she would bring on the trip as her companion, Gauff sweetly replied, “My boyfriend because we have been wanting to do that.” Adding to her response, she also mentioned the stuff they would take to eat and enjoy the road trip. “For sure, some skinny popcorn, naked smoothies, sour patch kids, and I need like a chocolate Twix bars.” Not to mention listening to some Childish Gambino or Kaytranada tracks to make the overall experience even better.

Back in February, on Valentine’s Day, the 21-year-old shared a heartfelt message for her BF. She wrote, “Happy Valentine’s Day, star! I love you. What we have will mean everything to me, forever and always.”
