Moreover, the American has won two Olympic gold medals. Also, she is the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history, at 18 years and 345 days.

However, the American skier hasn’t had a memorable Olympics run in Beijing this year. She crashed out of her first run in giant slalom. Moreover, she also failed to make it past five gates after skiing off the line just seconds into her opening attempt.

Coco Gauff reacts after Mikaela Shiffrin posts a heartfelt message

The American skier posted a message on her official Instagram handle vowing to rise back stronger. Teenage tennis sensation Coco Gauff commented on her post saying, “We love you.”

Reflecting on her journey in Beijing Olympics, Mikaela Shiffrin said, “It’s wonderful to train and compete alongside all of these courageous and incredible women, who have overcome so much in their life, just to get here. But being here can really hurt too. There’s a lot of disappointment and heartbreak going around in the finish area, but there’s also a lot of support.

On rising from failures, she said, “Sending my love to those who are feeling that striking hurt of defeat… only let it beat you down for a little bit, and then you stand up again and throw a few punches back.”

Mikaela Shiffrin will aim to come back stronger in her upcoming events. She will next race at Crans Montana in Switzerland, which will be a downhill racing event.

Sports fans will certainly be glad to see stars from different sports come together and show support for one another. Shiffrin’s fighting spirit will certainly help Coco Gauff in her own endeavors.
