Coming into Wimbledon without featuring in any grass court tune-up events, Venus made it past rising Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu to reach the second round.

However, she ran into in-form Tunisian Ons Jabeur in the second round and went down in straight sets.

She had paired up with maverick Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios for the mixed doubles draw at All England and they hit it off well, winning their first match together against Austin Krajicek and Sabrina Santamaria.

However, with Kyrgios pulling out of Wimbledon after picking up an injury in his third-round tie against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the partnership with Venus met a premature end.
