In professional tennis, the relationship between a coach and a player is really essential to help him reach the heights of his career. However, the slightest of misunderstandings can cause huge turmoil with the players and their staff. The same news has recently come to light, where the upcoming American sensation Coco Gauff, who recently laid hands on her first-ever career Grand Slam has come up with a shocking decision.

If the reports are considered to be true, a major catalyst that helped Gauff win the US Open is no longer a part of the team. What comes as a surprise to many is the fact that she was playing in the form of her life at the moment. Then what could be the reason for her split?

Coco Gauff reportedly parts ways with her head coach Pere Riba

In a surprising turn of events, it has come to light that Coco Gauff has parted ways with her Spanish coach, Pere Riba. This news has come very unexpectedly to her fans who are now wondering what the reason for the separation might be.

Chanda Rubin and Lindsay Davenport, both experts in the world of tennis, have reportedly shed light on this significant change. What makes this separation all the more intriguing is that it occurred during a period of notable success for Gauff, which has left many wondering what the actual reason for the separation might be. Reacting to the whole drama, Jose Morgano, a prominent tennis journalist reshared the same tweet with a simple message, “wow…”.

Thus, if the reports are considered to be true, it has come out as a huge blow to both Coco Gauff and her fans as she parted ways with the coach who helped her secure her maiden grand slam success. However, as further developments await, the fans will be looking to get to the exact root of their separation.

Pere Riba shares his experience of coaching Gauff

In a recent interview, Pere Riba shared his experience of coaching Coco Gauff. He suggested that her success was due to her upbringing and that she had a very clear idea of how to deal with things. He later went ahead to mention that on a scale of 10, she was a 12.

“When you know more of her, you can see that is how she is—the education, the manners, how she treats the people, the way that she finishes the practice, stays outdoors for the fans. She is taking care of the things. I say many times to her, ‘Coco, you are too nice.’ She is unbelievable. Coco is 12 points from 10,” said Riba about Gauff.

Thus, the time that the two spent together was really worthwhile for Coco Gauff as she got to learn not much from him and developed herself as a complete player under his guidance. As confirmation is awaited of the split, fans and experts can only wait with bated breath.
