Martina Navratilova stirs up controversy with Cycling comment

The issue became that there were two competitions solely for the male participants while there were none for women.

Morgan talked about it being outrageous, and Navratilova replied to his comments about the situation and blamed those who made the rules. She said that male bodies take advantage of the rules, but her fans thought of different solutions. 

One fan said that the cyclist who came in third was smiling on the podium. Instead, they said she should have refused to participate.

One user said to Navratilova that seemingly not enough women were standing up against the injustice. For them, her comment implied that women were powerless against the rules set by men, and that did not hold. If enough women were to raise their voices, the rules written by men would change.

Another user said that the rules would not change unless women stopped competing in the sport. If there was no opposition, there would be no competition.

Another user suggested that female cyclists should boycott these events.

Yet another user said that they should refuse to compete, which would end the issues.

Before the US Open was in full swing, Iga Swiatek was still hopeful to win, given that she was at rank 1. However, before the tournament, she had not had a great run in any tournament and said that she was not feeling well enough to go far in the American slam. Navratilova did not dilly-dally with her comments and said that she should either suck it up or just skip the entire tournament.

Fans found her comment distasteful and said that they were aware she did not like Swiatek, but she should not be unpleasant to him.
