A few weeks ago, former World no.1 Ashleigh Barty shocked the entire world by announcing her retirement from tennis. According to the Aussie player, she had nothing left in the tank to give to the sport anymore.
Meanwhile, after Barty’s retirement, people are speculating about her next career move. Previously, she played cricket in 2015 after taking a break from tennis. Recently, a few of her Australian teammates and cricketers talked about Barty’s potential comeback to cricket.

Current Australian cricketers wouldn’t mind if Ashleigh Barty returns to cricket
A few days back, the Australian women’s cricket team clinched their seventh World Cup title after beating England in the final. The winning captain, Meg Lanning, talked about getting surprised after hearing about Barty’s retirement. “I was surprised. I think we all were. You don’t expect someone who’s going so well and dominating to call time. It’s a very brave call.”
Speaking about Barty’s return to cricket, she further said, “If she wants to come and have another crack at cricket (we) would certainly be interested in talking to her.”

Meanwhile, one of the greatest ever Australian cricketers Ellyse Perry also chimed in with her opinion about Barty’s sudden retirement. “She genuinely tends to buck the norm a little bit and do what’s best for her which is just really cool. It sounds like golf is in with a better chance (than cricket). It’d be really nice for her to be able to do what she wants to do.”
Notably, Barty played in the first-ever Women’s Big Bash League for Brisbane Heat in the 2015-16 season. After that, she returned to tennis in 2016 and became one of the best players in the world.
Barty won a golf tournament in Australia
Not many days have passed since Barty said goodbye to tennis. However, it seems like she has already decided on her next career move. Recently, in Queensland, the former tennis player took part in a golf tournament and she won.

Also, she received a check for £17 after winning the golf tournament. Without a doubt, Barty is multi-talented as she played cricket too. But winning a golf tournament is truly a remarkable achievement for the former no.1 tennis player in the world.
