Even though she experienced the joy of being in the Top 5 for only a brief time, Eugenie Bouchard has always been a fan favorite player. In March last year, the fans of the Canadian were disappointed when she took some time off the sport owing to a torn subscapularis on her right shoulder. Ever since then, they have been hoping to see her back on the court.

Recovering from the injury, the 28-year-old made a steady comeback to the practice courts in December last year. However, being out of the tour for 8 months, needless to say, just a day of training wasn’t enough. Practicing hard in the following months, Eugenie Bouchard finally looks in good shape to make her comeback to the tour. Yesterday, the 31st of July, Bouchard took to Instagram, giving a glimpse of her latest training session.

Eugenie Bouchard takes over the hard courts

With the grass court season coming to an end, players are now gearing up for the North American hard-court swing. Similar is the case with Bouchard. After missing Wimbledon due to the unavailability of ranking points this year, the former World No.5 is now gearing up for a comeback in the upcoming hard-court season.

Being amongst the most active social media entities, Bouchard recently shared the first glimpse of her hard-court training sessions. Dazzling in a pink t-shirt and mauve shorts, the Montreal born player posed for a couple of ‘cute’ photos. Posting the photos, she wrote, cute but focused.”

This isn’t the first time that Bouchard has given a glimpse of her training sessions. Scrolling through her Instagram handle, one can see that she regularly gives a sneak peek into her sessions, on-court as well as off-court.

Since her debut, Eugenie Bouchard has always been looked upon as a player with much potential. After giving her all, it was finally at the 2014 Wimbledon that she wrote her name in the history books. Being in a strong position, the 13th seeded Bouchard sailed over her opponents to set up a quarterfinal clash with 9th seeded Angelique Kerber. Being in scintillating form, Bouchard had no difficulty in outplaying the German in straight sets.

Going ahead, she further outplayed the third seeded Simona Halep in the semifinals in straight sets. With her impressive run, needless to say, she had become the fan favorite for the title. Entering the finals with utmost confidence, Bouchard kicked off on a strong note. However, going ahead in the game, she failed to withstand the Czech star Petra Kvitova, as she suffered a straight set loss.
