The year 2024 didn’t start too well for American tennis player Danielle Collins due to her injuries, especially rheumatoid arthritis. However, in a recent press conference,  this WTA star sarcastically revealed her feelings about it. Collins had to announce temporary retirement from this season as the WTA player needed an immediate laparoscopic treatment after Swiatek defeated her in the Australian Open’s second round.

Collins reconsidered her decision as she played against Naomi Osaka. However, this made her fans anxious as this WTA star suffers from a rare disease called Endometriosis. Now Collins hilariously shared her physical distress with the fans.

Having “rheumatoid arthritis, endometriosis, chronic pain, overuse injuries” Danielle Collins is suffering a lot

Recently, a reliable tennis source shared a photo of the American tennis star from a recent press conference. Sharing the photo, this source added Collins’s statements from the interview. It said- “By the end of this, maybe a pharmaceutical company will pick me up…rheumatoid arthritis, endometriosis, chronic pain, overuse injuries…I mean I’m every pharmaceuticals’ dream.”

Collins brought more limelight towards her physical issues when she talked about her Endometriosis disease. In this disease, Collins’s internal cells of the womb abnormally grow in other body places. However, this disease brought her tremendous pain during menstruation and she found her comfort in surgery.

Apart from this, Collins also suffers from rheumatoid arthritis. This is an inflammatory and autoimmune disease with no cure. Diagnosed in 2019, Collins suffered many issues in her professional tennis career about such physical issues. While Collins is offering a more sarcastic viewpoint, she once revealed her true suffering due to so many diseases.

Danielle Collins revealed her horrifying challenges in dealing with Endometriosis

Struggling with Endometriosis, Collins shared her immense challenges. She commented- “I’ve always had painful periods but I remember a couple of years ago being woken from my sleep and immediately needing to drive to the pharmacy to buy anti-inflammatories just to be able to get through the night.Ever since that incident, I would get really sick around my period with almost flu-like symptoms; fever, chills, throwing up, fainting at times and even having to go to hospital. I would also have a lot of fluid in my stomach which would leave me really bloated and it just got to the point where it was so agonising. The inevitability that this would occur month after month would really shake me a lot mentally because it was really tough knowing I would have to perform physically despite everything.”

Despite such much physical distress, Danielle Collins has impressed her fans with so much resilience and dedication towards her sport. Whether she plays or retires from professional tennis, Collins will always be remembered for her indomitable spirit.
