Aryna Sabalenka shares a secret behind her success in China

The 25-year-old tennis player is quite connected to China, as she has won four out of her first five WTA titles there. But even after kicking off her career in China, it’s time to bring Sabalenka to that country that started her career, and with the Hologic WTA Tour’s return to Beijing, everything is possible. Recently, in a press conference just before the tournament, she revealed a secret to achieving success in China.

She said, “I remember they used to call me ‘Daughter of China.’ It was really cool, I liked it…I guess I really like fried rice & that’s why I’m doing well here. It’s only about this perfect fried rice.”

While she credited her success to her love of fried rice, she also spoke of how her devoted Chinese fans had supported her since the very beginning of her career. Nevertheless, she also highlighted how, after becoming the world number one, she feels like she has a lot of responsibilities to kind of represent the tournament.

Moreover, a few months after winning the Madrid Open, the 2023 Australian Open champion opened up about the secret sauce behind her gradual rise in the women’s circuit.

What made Sabalenka strive towards the summit?

The world number-one-ranked tennis player in an interview with TopCourt, shared the process that led to her rise on the WTA circuit. Sabalenka mentioned that when she was 18 years old; she was ranked somewhere around 120. That was the moment when the 25-year-old felt certain that she could play tennis.
