Forty-year-old Alexis Ohanian co-founded Reddit at a very young age and saw entrepreneurial success from the get-go. Through his venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, Ohanian actively invests in the development and growth of women in the sporting world. The most prominent example of this is his involvement with the National Women’s Soccer League team Angel City FC as its lead founding investor. Due to his unwavering support and groundbreaking advocacy for women’s empowerment in the field of sports, he was awarded the Champion for Equality award by the Women’s Sports Foundation last year.

Revisiting that special moment, where he was honored in front of his wife Serena Williams and daughter Olympia, Ohanian pledged to continue his work for the cause of women athletes in a heartfelt tweet. “A year ago, BJK @WomensSportsFdn presented me with this award and here on the even of the #WWC23 I’m feeling even more grateful to have been at the right place at the right time. Women athletes still deserve better, but we’ve all got a role to play. I will work to deserve this.”, he tweeted.
