Emma Raducanu started this year on the court on the wrong footing; quite literally. Right now, the British tennis star is recuperating from an ankle injury for which she even had to undergo surgery. However, this injury was persisting for a long period. Even then, she wanted to be a part of the Australian Open. It was only at the Madrid Open this year that she realized that things have gone southwards.

Now, after announcing her withdrawal from the upcoming events, Raducanu is breaking down the severity of her injury. However, even then, her passion for the sport pushed her to get back on the court at the Australian Open.

The British tennis star has come under the scrutiny of tennis enthusiasts because of her US Open victory in 2021. Her underwhelming performance has made her the target of undesired attention. Yet again this year she was held accountable for her unsatisfying performance.

But Raducanu was suffering from an unfortunate ankle injury. This was the same injury that made her withdraw from the Madrid Open. But it could not hold her back from playing at the Australian Open. Is Raducanu going to be there at Wimbledon and US Open?

Though it is truly unfortunate to see the British tennis star sitting outside the court, fans are happy to see her recover. Raducanu made the sad announcement of her withdrawal last month.
