With 154 singles titles in her bag, Chris Evert has undoubtedly carved out a ‘Hall of Fame’ legacy during her two-decade-long journey in the women’s circuit. Being a renowned figure in the sporting realm, the American tennis legend has inspired the younger generation with her on-court prowess and her long list of accolades. Even after her retirement, the former tennis ace is winning the hearts of many around the globe, though, with her off-court philanthropic endeavors. Thus, in recognition of her charitable initiatives in her country, the WTA legend will be honored with a prestigious award at the Grand Slam event in New York, the US Open.

The ‘Ice Maiden’ previously joined the USTA charity foundation in 2016, and since then, she has diligently made efforts to set up funds that have made a significant contribution to the welfare of society.

The tennis community hails Chris Evert for her philanthropic endeavors
The Hall of Famer is currently serving as the chairperson of the organization’s board and is on a mission to raise funds and provide opportunities to strengthen underprivileged communities, particularly for the youth in her nation. And for her philanthropic endeavors as part of the USTA Foundation, the American tennis legend will now be honored at the gala that will take place in New York.
According to a report from keysnews.com, the former tennis ace will receive the ‘Serving Up Dreams’ award at the US Open this season. The 18-time Grand Slam champion has long been an advocate for the USTA Foundation and their humanitarian beliefs and projects for impoverished communities.

Chris Evert initially joined hands with the organization in order to set up a scholarship fund that will provide children with opportunities to succeed on and off the tennis court. In order to honor her late father, the American tennis icon collaborated on this philanthropic project as she further named the charity amount, ‘Jimmy Evert Fund’.
Apart from the WTA legend, there is another prominent figure in the tennis circuit who has recently collaborated with the USTA for a charitable project.

Evert’s young compatriot is also part of the organization’s initiatives
Just like the Hall of Famer, her compatriot, Frances Tiafoe recently joined hands with the tennis organization in an initiative to give back to society. After visiting his childhood court in Maryland, the ATP player announced the ‘Frances Tiafoe Fund,’ which will pave a path for the younger generation in his hometown.
