With Miami Open being the center of attention of every tennis enthusiast, there are certain other happenings that divert the focus of the fans. However, if we start listing them all, it will make a long list. Though there are a few events that need to be mentioned. One such topic is Naomi taking motivation from an analytic pick against her for this tournament. Coco Gauff also weighed in on the same.

Gauff on dealing with negativity
Coco Gauff faced an experienced player in the second round of ongoing Miami Open. She defeated 30-year-old Wang Qiang of China by 7-5, 6-4 and has reserved her seat to the third round. While speaking to the press post victory, she spoke about how similar Naomi and her thinking is when it comes to getting motivation out of negativity around them for the tournaments .
“I mean, yeah, for me definitely. I mean, people say you can’t do something. It definitely makes you more motivated, at least in my opinion. Yeah, I don’t really watch when my matches are commentated on all the time, and during tournaments I try not to like go on certain platforms that you know you’re probably going to see people say you can’t do this or that. So, yeah, I kind of try to stay away from it.” she said.

Coco Gauff Might Be the Next Big Thing
Gauff is just 18 years old and is the youngest player to be in the top 100 of the WTA rankings. When young, she won herself a chance to be trained in Patrick Mouratoglou’s academy, who has, in fact, assisted the legend, Serena Williams, in her triumphs. We all know that having a good coach is vital to any player’s success, and Gauff’s coaches are amongst the bests.

Further, she has career highest ranking of 16 in singles and 10 in doubles, along with 2 singles and 4 doubles titles. Although she didn’t have a great run in Indian Wells, she has taken a good start in Miami. We will soon see what Miami has in store for her.
