The 31-year-old took to Twitter to announce the birth of her daughter. Sharing an adorable picture with her daughter, she said, “Baby Emmeline 12/09/22.” 

In May this year, Konta broke out the news of her pregnancy on social media. Sharing a picture of her baby bump, she said, “Busy baking my own little muffin right now.”

The adorable post by Konta led to reactions from many famous personalities and fellow players. Kate Middleton’s brother, James Middleton said, “Such wonderful news so happy for you both.”

The British tennis star announced the end of her playing career after the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati last year. At that tournament, she lost in the opening round against Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic. Over the last year, she was hampered by injuries, which was one of the causes behind her sudden retirement. Moreover, she had to miss the Wimbledon Championships last season after a member of her team tested positive for Covid-19.

Konta took to social media to announce the end of her playing career, saying, “My playing career has come to an end, and I am so incredibly grateful for the career that it turned out to be.”

Konta reached the World Number 4 in the WTA rankings. She reached the semifinals of all the Grand Slam tournaments barring the US Open.
