The 43-year-old Venus Williams will have a lot of years to add to her tennis journey. But after displaying good tennis for almost two decades, things have not been that subtle for her. There are several obstacles in her way of having a successful run on the tennis court, even after giving it her all and enduring severe injuries.
And now, despite having her intellect and willpower in sync, there is one thing that is preventing her from becoming the player she once was. She recently revealed those little missing puzzle pieces in life, just for her dedication to the sport.

Since her sister, Serena Williams retired last year, there has been a lot of speculation regarding whether it’s time for the 43-year-old tennis star to also call off her tennis journey. But at the same time, the Grand Slam champion is not leaving the sport anytime soon and has time on her hands to be a good tennis player. However, she recently revealed how she left out a lot of things in life to focus on the professional front.
In a recent conversation with the WTA, the tennis player revealed that it’s not her mind or willpower that is holding her back. She said, “I could be doing a bunch of other things besides hours of training, and there’s a lot of fun things to do, a lot of intriguing things to do, a lot of work things that I could be doing. So continuing to make that choice, to put in hour after hour is probably the toughest part.”

On the other hand, she also detailed how she is giving herself 100% time to face failures in the most positive manner possible.

In addition, Venus highlighted how it takes a lot to do anything better and how she is giving her million percent to try to be injury free and enjoy a longer run on the WTA circuit. Not only that, a few months ago she also shared a life philosophy regarding giving 100% on the tennis court.
When Venus Williams shared her life philosophy
A few months back, in an ask me anything session on the EleVen by Venus official Instagram account, the 43-year-old revealed a philosophy that she believes in. The tennis legend also made a connection between that philosophy and her retirement. She revealed how she has never felt so defeated following a loss that she considered retiring.

But rather than giving up, she has always given her 100% to improve the failures in her life. Along with that, she indicated that the day she is done; and she is going to finish everything on her own terms, the way she feels comfortable. Moreover, Venus emphasized on the fact that facing failures is not something that’s going to stop her from doing what she wants to do in her life.
