Naomi Osaka is desperate to make a strong comeback in the 2025 season! She has been spending most of her time in practice sessions with her new coach. Apart from that, she has also been busy with her upcoming book. So, she literally has a packed-up schedule in the off-season! On Friday, she spoke about her next big project on IG Threads, “So I’ve been writing a book and I think I want to post one excerpt on IG because I feel like someone might find it relatable and that would make me happy.” Later she even shared a screenshot of her post on IG, with the caption, “I’m kinda nervous 🥲 If I wake up with courage I’ll post it tomorrow.” Now, it seems she has finally found the courage!

Just a few hours ago, Naomi Osaka teased her fans with an eye-opening excerpt from her unreleased autobiography. She posted four screenshots of a section called, ‘Ramblins1 (Self Love?)’ in her IG account. She started it by saying, “Growing up I never liked myself. While that statement is bold, I also wouldn’t say I disliked myself either. It was a strange contradiction of thought, I was existing but I didn’t have a strong emotion or opinion tied to my being whether positive or negative.” She explained how she overcame all the self-doubts after never liking herself while growing up.

Naomi Osaka further added, “Comparison is the thief of joy. When I was a teenager I used to compare myself to other people a lot. Whether it was from being a stereotypical teenage girl and thinking my body wasn’t conventionally attractive because I’m an athlete, or comparing myself to other tennis players and thinking I’m behind.” She then revealed how she began to love herself after going through all the hardships that came her way.

The third part of that post had an interesting line that read, “Uniqueness, this is one of my favorite words. You are the only you in the world, that should be celebrated and loved.” For those who are unaware, Naomi Osaka once revealed that loves writing. She spoke about how writing helps her in pouring her soul into the text and “wording things” in her voice. In 2022, she even released a children’s book named, ‘The Way Champs Play.’ What’s in that book?

Talking about preparations for the 2025 season, her new coach, Patrick Mouratoglou claimed, “She’s extremely motivated to come back and win Grand Slams, and it’s a pleasure for me because that’s the dream of every coach: to have a player who has that level of motivation.” Naomi Osaka last won a Grand Slam title in 2021! It’ll be interesting to see if we can see the vintage Osaka in 2025, but what are her goals for the next season, though?

Speaking about her upcoming goals, Naomi Osaka stated, “My goal now, I think to be seeded in Australia.” She even cracked a joke on this saying, “I would really love that. I would love to avoid Caroline Garcia (smiling). Yeah, just being seeded. But not putting too much pressure on myself. I’m just trying to take it day by day.” This year, she met Garcia in the first round of the AO and got knocked out by her in the very first match by straight sets. So, concerns are quite obvious but do you think Naomi Osaka can win a title in 2025?
