After winning the Australian Open earlier this year, she has now managed to reach the semi-finals in all other slams. Talking about the victory in the post-match press conference, she described her happiness while also shedding light on taking the number one spot in the WTA ranking.

“Of course I’m happy. It’s really important for me & my family. I have some things to do in New York this year, so I’m trying to focus on my game. I’ll think about becoming world #1 after the US Open,” revealed Sabalenka in the interview.

“I just saw how proud he was of me—how he was celebrating every win, every title—and he told me then that I have everything I needed to achieve this goal: I just had to learn myself better, to learn how to control my emotions, and one day I’d be world number one,” revealed Aryna Sabalenka in the interview.
