The American tennis legend, Serena Williams, was once featured in an interview with Vogue where she talked about some rules in tennis that bothered her. Williams was asked about the most absurd rule in tennis during the interview. She answered, “Foot fault!”

Williams further answered another question about the most obscure rule in tennis during the interview. The 23 Grand Slam champion answered, “Those fines that no one really ever knows about.”

The American tennis player, Serena has faced a massive total of $109,500 in fines during her tennis journey. The interviewer then questioned her about the craziest call she has ever received. She answered, “Oh my gosh, I got, I lost a point ’cause I yelled come on too loud.”

Williams once faced a $10,000 fine for damaging the tennis court by smashing her racket on the grass surface during Wimbledon. Additionally, the American tennis legend was fined $17,000 at the U.S. Open when she verbally abused the chair umpire during her match.

Serena Williams faced the heaviest fine in her tennis journey at the 2009 U.S. Open. Authorities fined her $82,500 for verbally abusing the chair umpire after being called for a foot fault. She was playing the semifinal match of the tournament against Kim Clijsters when this incident happened.
