Serena Williams balanced motherhood and her love of tennis when she became a mother for the first time with Olympia. However, the format has since been altered. The devoted mother has come a long way, putting motherhood responsibilities ahead of other endeavors, from being the star of the fashion awards night and taking home a fashion award to pumping breast milk for her newborn, Adira.

Serena Williams puts motherhood first

Being a mother is not an easy role to pull, but the 23-time Grand Slam champion has made motherhood a beautiful experience. Just a few days ago, Williams received the 2023 CFDA Fashion Icon Award, where she dazzled on the red carpet in a stunning black dress. But before shining like a star, she made sure to complete her motherhood duties.

In that video, she was seen pumping breast milk at first for her daughter, Adira Ohanian, and just a few moments later, she was seen dazzling in the beautiful black dress as she became the first athlete to receive the CFDA fashion honors. Rather than making motherhood just a part of her life, Williams has always prioritized her choices, and as a mother, doing things for her family is something that she has always kept first.

However, on one hand, motherhood is beautiful, but it’s not that easy. Sometimes, reality is not as simple as it looks. Back in 2017, when she was a new mother, she sat down for an interview with Good Morning America. In that conversation, she opened up about how motherhood is a feeling that can never be explained, but at the same time, it’s something that’s not that easy. She stated, “No one talks about the low moments-the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry. I’ve broken down I don’t know how many times.”

Along with that, she also highlighted how the emotional journey of having a baby is just unexplainable. In addition, she also stated how people give advice on the positive part of being a mother, but nobody talks about the ups and downs that come with the happiness of having a baby.
