

Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka is going through a challenging phase in her career. The 24-year-old has faced multiple injury issues coupled with a poor string of performances. In the tournaments she participated this year, the former world number one could not go past the initial rounds.
Her last tournament was the Japan Open, where she played only one match. In the opening round her opponent, Daria Saville retired in the middle after suffering an injury. Later Osaka herself pulled out before the second round because of illness. However, it didn’t limit her from exploring the city of Tokyo.

Osaka’s day out in Tokyo
The four-time Grand Slam champion recently took to her Instagram account and shared multiple stories from her day out exploring the capital city of Japan. The stories feature a temple and a street crossing, followed by some amazing food and a visit to the infamous Tokyo Tower.
Out of all the food she had, Oska was particularly impressed with the pizza as she wrote, “This Pizzaaaaa. It never fails. Tier 1. Incredible”

Further, the former world number one also shared a picture from the NBA game she attended. The city trail ended with the last picture from her hotel room. She wrote “Bye” followed by the Japanese flag.

Pam Shriver calls out Naomi Osaka
American tennis legend Pam Shriver is not happy with the way Naomi Osaka is performing. While she understands Osaka got a tough draw in the US Open, she is not happy with the efforts she is putting in. Further, the American advised Osaka to focus completely on her game and play as many matches as possible.

She also gave the example of legendary tennis star Serena Williams, who had a tough time recovering from injuries and made a statement by winning the Australian Open in 2007. Back then, the 23-time Grand Slam champion was out of the top 70 and wasn’t looking in great shape.
