Coco Gauff mentions Aryna Sabalenka’s name since she admits to only seeing Serena Williams play

In a recent press conference, the Former US Open champion was asked about her biggest competitor. However, in her response, Williams brought her idol Serena Williams’s name but in a different way. Gauff commented- “The greatest competitor that I have faced, let me think. Actually — that I have seen, definitely Serena. I’ve never played her.”

 After this, Gauff delved deeper into this matter and revealed Aryna Sabalenka’s name. Gauff further said- “I’m trying to think of people that I’ve played that every time I play is very competitive. I would say Aryna Sabalenka, I think. She’s an incredible competitor. This match a couple days ago kind of showed when she’s down 40-Love and saved match points, she’s just one of those players you play, and no matter the score you know she’s always going to compete and find a way even if she’s not playing her best.”

Disappointed Coco Gauff  revealed her feelings after the Australian Open 2024 defeat

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Coco Gauff by 7-6(2) and 6-4 at the finals of this year’s debut Grand Slam event. However, post-victory Gauff revealed her attempt to win the match. Referring to Gauff’s epic US Open win in 2023, the WTA star said- “She served better…. She made less errors, But also, I feel like I played a little bit more aggressive this time. The US Open I felt like wasn’t a great match for me. Yes, I won. I think I played better tonight.”

Gauff also stayed beside herself after that ill-fated loss at the Australian Open 2024 against Sabalenka. Gauff tweeted after this- “reminding myself that i’m still evolving. time to get back to work and come back stronger. thank you @australianopen for the memories this year and thank you everyone for their support.”

Coco Gauff’s revelation about her biggest competitor expressed that the former always looks up to her rival and colleague Aryna Sabalenka. The rivalry between these two amazing WTA stars brought many incredible matches to the fans.
